Foreword from Rector
“A Creative Economy that promotes cultural elements needs to be empowered to improve welfare and strengthen our national pride as Indonesian.”
As a pluralistic nation, Indonesia has a tremendous amount of diverse assets in the form of tangible and intangible heritage. The beauty and depth of its meaning are the wealth of the soul and the identity of our nation.
Universitas Ciputra wants to creatively contribute to the preservation and development of the nation’s culture. It is no coincidence that Universitas Ciputra’s founder is a well-known art and culture enthusiasts.
We believe that a Creative Economy that promotes cultural elements needs to be empowered to improve welfare and strengthen our national pride as Indonesian.
For this reason, the Centre for Creative Heritage Studies was established to catalog, document and process elements of the Nusantara culture and apply it according to the soul and needs of the present.
We will incorporate cultural elements into our learning materials, as lecturer research and seek real applications for the wider community.
Therefore, we hope that this Centre can be utilised also by external parties, both cultural actors, collectors, educators and Cultural Entrepreneurs who will prosper Indonesian cultural and the nation in general.
I wish that this Centre for Creative Heritage Studies will grow and create benefits for society. May God be with us all.
Rector,
Ir. Yohannes Somawiharja M.Sc.
